I didn't think it mattered as long as I gave proper credit, and frankly I'm displeased that something I spent hours on isn't appreciated. It's supposed to be a tribute to the original artist because I enjoyed the art so much. I think her lineart is great and I wanted to honor her by taking time to add a background.

It makes me mad that, instead of it being appreciated, someone got pissed at something that was supposed to be a gift to them. Ugh. It's not really very fair to me. But I took it down, so whatever.

Even so-- if you meant it as a gift ask first & then note her later w/ your finished works (after you've gotten permission). I did see that you gave credit & that you included her name in the title, but in retrospect that is also a line art she might have had plans for.

Let's all take into consideration everyone's feelings & know that moving forward it has to be approved by all parties. It's ok to color line art but the originator must know in advance--it's not you personally it's the fact that there are SO many art thieves out there & the fact that no permission was asked in the beginning.

Does that make sense?

Thank you for taking it down--just from now on send a note beforehand & keep practicing! You're coloring will improve & there is a lot of line art on dA up for coloring.
