just work on your colouring-painting skills more
i suggest you redo this one later on when you are better
it will give you a motivation boost too

If you're in a hurry, take the long way!
Good artists are the crappy artists who never gave up
Thank you for your kind words!
And thanks for your critic, but if possible I'd like you to be more precised about the working on my colouring-painting skills part. I sit just the cell-shading you don't like? Coz I'e done other things... Is it simply coz you'd like me to color more like a painting or something? I'm not taking it the wrong way, I just wanna know exactly what you think I should work on to better attack the problem a get better. So if you could tell me that would be nice!

yeah, i was basically thinking about a more painted like experience..or a more gradient look...i really can't give a good opinion because cell shading because i did minimal job on it..just some vectoring and so; but i can say that, in my opinion, cell shading is harder than painting; especially digital painting that is
you pretty much have good anatomy sense but, like always, there's room for better
about your previous work...i browsed those and i think you have the skills for better art than that..anime style is good but why not go realism
if you like the style, it's ok...i thought so too...till i tried otherwise...so just give it a shot! and if you'll wanna come back, then that's you!
but let's have a look, shall we?
naruto for example xD (cuzz you find A LOT of art genres about this anime on dA)
sasuke..he'snormally cell shaded, right? : [link] or perhaps a different cell shading time ( a more airbrushy type)[link] cute...but how about semi realism?
same goes about neji:
cell: [link] , semi: [link] , good to eat real LOL: [link] ;
i also took a peek at your favourites and it's obvious that you like realism...so concious or unconsciously you aspire...you hope for that style...i may be wrong though ( don't wanna seem all mighty know-how...i just wanna push the right button)
so if you're looking for what you wanna do in art i for one love to brows my favourites and see what style i faved recently...what i overall faved and such...
i know i wanted to say something more bout i think i forgot
so yeah! i hope that helped
aaan aaaah!!

But thanks for the tips anyways!
As you say there is always room for improvement, I couldn't agree more! I've actually started recently doing more cell-shading, because I kept saying I couldn't do cell-shading since it was so minimal and my bf put me up to the challenge and I ended up liking it!
But you're right! I totally love the realistic looking pieces, I envy all those amazing pieces in my faves! I just don't have the skills yet! I started a realistic piece this summer, but I just never get around to finishing it, maybe I'll push myself a little bit more now to try and finish it!
The thing is I try to experiment quite a few techniques, but I end up not really mastering any of them. But it gives me more variety to work with... at least I believe so! HaHa!
But the only thing I don't agree and don't take this the wrong way or anything, it's simply that I don't really see my style as being anime. I mean of course I started drawing watching Sailor Moon, so there is some manga left to it, but it keeps evolving. So to me it's not really anime. I mean my drawings wouldn't fit with the Naruto style (I mentionned that one coz you talked about that one) or any of that anime kinda style... I believe my noses are a bt more realistic and even the big lips. But anyways, that's my opinion and you are totally entitled to yours, as well. So don't worry! Still joy here! LoL!
Thanks again!
